Silver Birch
I love the striking bark of silver birch trees, and the paper-thin layers that peel off to reveal fresh silvery shimmer below. I was delighted to find that a riveting hammer can create a similar texture in sheets of silver. With this, the seeds of my first collection were sown.
Rings and bangles are simple bands of this lovely texture, while pendants and earrings are stylised leaf shapes in the same texture. These shapes are quite unlike the jagged edged leaves of the silver birch. They're shapes that have appeared time and again in my daydreams and doodles for many years, so it felt natural to use them in my first collection.
